The treasurer of your club or someone knowledgeable must go into Bivio, review the tax info and match to the 1099 brokers statement and run the tax program to produce the return and the k-1's. They don't magically appear without some work put into it.

Hello everyone,
The Federal tax program and the 5 state tax programs we provide have been released and are available for you to use now if you go to Accounting>Taxes.
Just a couple of reminders:
1. You can't prepare your taxes if you don't have your 1099 form yet from your broker.
2. You need to do all six steps shown to prepare correct taxes.
Enjoy!

Attn: Linda and Laurie. I am the knowledgeable member who is preparing this years taxes. I was not asking for K-1's, I was asking for forms. I said the web site shows 2014 data only and nothing for 2015. Are 2015 forms available now? If so, please tell me from where to download them. Thank You. Tom Joyce

HI Laurie, I have run the tax program for Federal and NJ state taxes.
Federal has been sent and acknowledged. However, since my club has 11 members I have to file electronically which has been a pain every year since I use an Apple computer they have not been compatible . This year I was told they are but I get this stage message :
The option selected is only available for Return Years prior to 2015.
Options for 2015 are currently under development
I have been in contact with the state but wondered if you know of anyone else has had this problem. Thanks. Liz
PS Their first response was with a link to the directions on how to fill out the forms. Of course, I don't need those because Bivio does such a good job. Thanks to all at Bivio.

Hello Laurie, I have still not been able to file NJ tax electronically. I was told that my club is not registered with the state and that may be why I can't access the site.
I was informed that Apple computers would not work.
In addition I am unfamiliar with the PC computers and it is a nightmare using it.
Just want to clarify that we are a Partnership and not a Limiited Partnership.
I am in contact with the state. I actually have phone numbers that are answered, but the computer is so slow that they couldn't hold wait on the phone. The good news is that I did get the extension filed. Liz

We are a NJ club that successfully filed, but I'm not the treasurer unfortunately. And we are filed in Essex County, filed the extension and then was finally able to file electronically on April 14th when the site was announced by the NJ treasury as fixed.

Have the other NJ clubs filled if so can you share how you did it

Liz,
There seems to be a lot of confusion at the NJ Division of Taxation this year. They changed the NJ-1065 return and then didn't complete debugging their programming until April 13, less than a week before the filing deadline. As far as I can tell, you should now be able to use any operating system to access the website. Most of the problems experienced by NJ clubs this year were due to these programming issues.
The remaining problem appears to involve clubs that are not registered with the state. I had numerous conversations with the Division and the Division of Revenue's Business Services group about this without reaching a satisfactory conclusion. The last that I heard was that they wanted clubs to register with the state by filing a NJ-REG form. It can be found on pages 17-19 here: http://www.state.nj.us/treasury/revenue/forms/2000.pdf.
I stopped following up on this on April 14 because I had to deal with the end of tax season demands of my tax practice. At that time I was going to ask the business registration office why they were insisting that investment clubs register as businesses when the NJ-1065 instructions state "Investment clubs are generally not considered a business." Under NJ law, all businesses must register with the state regardless of the form of ownership, but you can create a partnership simply by filing a DBA notice at your county courthouse. Many longstanding NJ investment clubs avoided this registration issue because their first NJ-1065 was filed on paper before the e-filing mandate. A paper return was sufficient to get you into the Division of Taxation's system.
For those who are inclined to follow up on this, the Division of Revenue's Business Registration help line is at (609) 292-9292 and the Division of Taxation help line is at (609) 292-6400.

See my earlier response to Liz for some information regarding these issues. The Java issue appears to have been resolved (at least on my system) as of late on April 13 (coincidentally, after I paid a personal visit to the local Division of Taxation office).
