K-1 FOR STATE OF VIRGINIA
We're a partnership and all current members are CA residents.

We have a prospective new member who will be moving from Virginia to CA sometime during 2015.

Can anyone tell me if the State of Virginia tax dept. will require us to send them the Virginia equivalent of the CA K1?  If so, can Bivio produce this form?

Thanks..........Jay

You can find state tax filing requirements here:

State Tax Requirements

It doesn't look like you need to file VA taxes if one of your members is from Virginia.

Jay,

According to the bivio "Investment Club State Tax Requirements" page, http://www.bivio.com/site-help/bp/State_Tax_Requirements_Help, it appears that Virginia does not require a state partnership return, and thus no special state form K1.

Thanks.

So it appears our investment club does not need to send the state of Virginia a K1, and we can certainly provide him with his CA K-1.  But, do we need to provide the new member with a Virginia K1 form, or does he get the data he needs to do his Virginia taxes off the CA K1?...........Jay
