account sync
We received two dividends in December in Folio that haven't
synced as of today with bivio as of today. Should I enter
them manually so we can balance December? Thanks for your
help.
The same thing happened to our club through BIVIO. Our treasurer hadn't noticed but when I brought it to his attention, he had to go to out Scotrade and re-sync our account to our BIVIO account.

This is why we tell you to do a quick check each month to make sure that the cash balance and number of shares of each of your stocks shown in bivio agrees with what your broker shows.

AccountSync can only enter what is in the data file that comes from your broker. If information is missing or incorrect or the link to your account has failed, you need to make any necessary corrections to make sure your bivio records stay correct.

If you catch things each month, it is usually simple to find any issues and get them fixed. If you wait too long before checking, you can have a bigger project to deal with.

So should she make a manual adjustment or not?

Yes. If entries are missing in bivio, you need to enter them manually. AccountSync pulls in new transactions only. It will not go back in time and fill in holes.

Thanks.  Is there a way to edit the cash amounts in Bivio to make them match broker?  The error whenever it occurred cannot be located.

Just wondering why it didn't sync in December?
Just wondering why it didn't sync in December?
Just wondering why it didn't sync in December?

The most common reason AccountSync stops working is that clubs change their login information on their brokers site and forget to update it in bivio.

I do not know the specific reason your club had an issue. If you had contacted us in support at the time it happened, we could have investigated your specifics and given you a more detailed answer.

Laurie,

What time of the evening do you typically do the downloads for Account sync?  In other words, if we change the login information for our broker what is the cutoff time to get it changed in Bivio so that it can still download that evening?

The downloads are done early in the morning following a business day. I don't have an exact time.

If you need something and have missed the automatic run, you can also email us in support and we can run it manually for you.
