Does anyone have shares in HP? Earlier this month, Hewlett Packard (symbol HPQ)
split into two companies: HP Inc. (symbol HPQ) and HP Enterprise (HPE). My understanding from the documents issued by the company is that for every old (pre-split) share of HPQ, shareholders would receive one new share of HPQ and one share of HPE. Our club had 100 pre-split shares, so I expected 100 new shares of HPQ and 100 of HPE respectively. To date, our portfolio only shows 100 shares of HPQ, with only roughly one-half the value of the pre-split shares.
We're contacting TD Ameritrade about this, but I wonder if any other club has had any problems with the split.

Yes...our club had 40 shares of HPQ and should now have 40 shares of HP (HPQ) and 40 shares of HPE at the adjusted price. Scotrade has made the adjustments but BIVIO has not.

It is important for everyone using AccountSync to understand that it can automatically enter only the information we receive in your brokers data file.
Scottrade especially does not provide reorganization information. If you have Scottrade as your investment club broker, that is why you have not seen this reorganization entered for you.
It is also one of the reasons why we tell you to do a quick records check each month to make sure the cash balance and number of shares of each of your stocks in bivio agrees with your brokers statement. If anything is missing, you can find it and get it resolved in a timely manner.
The good news is that we are glad to make the entries you need for you if you just email us at support@bivio.com. Making reorganization entries is part of the service you get from us with your bivio subscription.
You can also make them yourselves if you understand what to do.
In this case, this is entered as a spinoff of HPE from HPQ following the instructions below:
Based on the information provided by the company, the remaining basis percentage that you should enter on the spinoff form is 47.15
Once entries are made, it is very important that you check that the cost basis of each lot of both HPQ and HPE shown on the bivio Investment Lot Cost Basis Report agrees with what your broker shows on an unrealized gain/loss report.

No problem with AccountSync, Laurie. The problem is with the broker who has not correctly posted the split: the no. of shares in HPQ is correct but everything else (cost basis, shares in HPE) is wrong. We were simply wondering if other brokers had recorded it correctly so we could point that out to our broker and get them off dead center. (Our broker is sometimes slower than molasses in a cold Vermont winter!)

That is strange Andy. It doesn't look like TDAmeritrade has sent through any AccountSync information either.
Here is a link to the information you need to give them:
