Spin Off
I was checking on our short term and long term capital gains
agains our brokers report to make sure everything matched
before I need to deal with taxes and found that DuPont
either spun off or changed company names to Chemours Company
and when we sold Dupont in August of this year the capital
gains numbers do not match what bivio has. How can I
correct this?
Email support@bivio.com and they can help you.

Hi,

Dupont spun off Chemours in July. This is what you need to do to record a spinoff like this in bivio and allocate the cost basis correctly between the two companies:

Allocating Cost Basis in a Spinoff

We're also glad to make the spinoff entries for you if you email us at support@bivio.com. Please include a copy of the brokers report showing the cost basis of each lot of DD and CC that you still own and let us know how much cash in lieu you received instead of fractional shares (if any) when the spinoff happened.

Just a reminder that we highly recommend that everyone check the number of shares of each of their stocks shown in bivio against what their broker shows each month. Sometimes reorganization information is missing in the data file we read from your broker so we can't make entries automatically for you. If you do a quick check on number of shares each month, you can catch any issues quickly and work with us to get them resolved in a timely manner before they create other problems.

Thank you so much for your help.  I did exactly what you said and got it all straightened out.  Now both my broker's numbers and bivio's numbers match.  Thanks again.
