Mr. Market is Having a Sale

The market is down. What do your clubs have on your Pounce lists?

We are taking a look at STJ, ILMN and ALGN. We voted to buy some more FAST last night.

Other current club holdings that look interesting are PCLN, TROW and GNTX.

What are your clubs thinking?

With profuse apologies to pet lovers - RE: Pounce list - beware the "dead cat bounce"

From an investment wiki -
A 'dead cat bounce' is a figurative term used by financial traders to describe a temporary rally after a spectacular decline in the price of an asset, before resuming its downward trajectory.  It is often expressed on trading floors as the observation that "even a dead cat will bounce if it falls from a great height".

Our club decided to buy WFM, Whole Foods Market. As we were fully invested, sold MSFT at a gain to pay for it.

<We voted to buy some more FAST last night.>

Laurie,

How long does your club usually hold stocks like this? What are your criteria for selling stocks?

Thank you,

Richard Pfeffer

We hold stocks as long as our fundamental judgements tell us the stock has the potential to give us a desirable return.

Desirable means higher than other investment options we have at the time we are making the decision.
