Executive Committee
We have a large club with poor turnout at monthly meetings. We have weekly research meetings that are open to any club member but usually has the same 5 to 8 in attendence. We discuss stocks and the portfolio and make recommendations to the club either by email  or at monthly meetings.  The committee has the power to sell calls and put. In stop-sell orders.

Subject: [club_cafe] Re: Executive Committee

Our club does have something similar to an Executive
Committee. We call it the Operating Committee. In addition
to our regular monthly meeting, we have an Operating
Committee meeting once a month. All officers are required
members of the committee but any other club members are
welcome to attend. The purpose of the Operating Committee is
twofold - 1) pre-screen stock candidates for presentation at
the regular club meeting - to make sure adequate research
has been completed. All stock candidates to be discussed at
the regular meeting must be pre-screened. 2) working meeting
to discuss and formulate changes to our Partnership
Agreement or By-Laws when necessary. This ensures that any
changes are well formulated before presentation to the club
membership. Pre-screening is the primary activity of the
committee.

If actual club decisions need to be made between regular
club meetings rare), we usually use e-mail discusson to
arrive at a decision.

The Operating Committee works well for us and enables our
regular meetings to be streamlined and effective.

Our club currently has 15 members
