Good Morning all,
My husband just informed me it is National Flip Flop Day.
I think we need a National Investment Club Day.
Any suggestions on the best date to select for it?

I'm thinking it should be one of the best months for investing in stocks over the years. I favor a November date which marks the end of the string of 3 bad investment months and the beginning of 3 good investment months!
Best months for stocks - January, March, April, July, November, December
Worst months for stocks - February, May, June, August, September, October

I was thinking along these lines also. But I was thinking that July or August might be a good time to encourage clubs because they might have a good chance at getting some bargain prices during that time.
I had considered something related to tax time, but it seems like it brings negative thoughts into play.
It's really interesting to hear everyones thoughts and perspectives.

Focusing on investment clubs is why I suggested Mr. Nicholson's birthdate. (The founding of the Mutual Investment Club of Detroit took a long time and I don't know which date to use, so the founder's birthdate seemed appropriate to me.) I'd love to see what other ideas are out there in the Bivio community.

From the literature I've read, he is considered the founder of the investment club movement. But, as I said, I'd love to hear suggestions from other investors.

My choice - October 24 - the day of the stock market crash of 1929.
Yes, I'm crazy, but hear me out. What better reminder of how a club works together emphasizing that investing is not speculating and diligently adhering to a long term investment strategy will prevail. We hear too much about the intimidation the media, market swings, brokers or any other outside influences. Let's laugh in their face and celebrate what we do.

What is our goal here?
To have a party & celebrate our smart club decisions?
or to attract new members by showcasing how great clubs are?
I'm thinking that aiming to stir up interest just before prices typically do a cyclical increase is a good time for National Investment Club Day.
Or..
Just after gains are typically seen, which is encouraging to new potential members.

All of the above. Good point. I'd say the goal is to raise awareness of investment clubs.
