Thanks for the suggestion Jay. We get few requests to add additional spreadsheet reports. It would help if you can provide some further details.
What reports can't you download that you'd like to? Why would you like to download them to a spreadsheet? How often do you think you'd do that?
Just to let you know, you do have an option now for any of the reports. The ones that do not have direct spreadsheet links on them can still be imported using Excel Web Queries. You might want to check into that if your club needs something that is not on one of the pre-formatted reports.

Well, the particular instance was trying to satisfy a club request for the totals of all dividends received for our portfolio by each stock.
Went to "Investments" selected each stock and then proceeded to manually add up the dividends. I did swipe and cut the entire report for each stock, paste it into Excel; sort it, then sum the lines with "Dividend".
Maybe there's an easier way that I'm not aware of.
(Did some reading on Web Queries but it hasn't sunk in yet).

Consider going to your broker website and downloading ticker transaction histories. Whatever your broker, the site usually allows downloads to excel. If you are a treasurer, you have access anyway. As a side note, it is useful to familiarize yourself with available transaction downloads anyway, as I slice and dice transactions to prepare for the audit.

If you go to the Taxes section on Bivio, under Preparing Your Club Taxes, Step 2 - Reconcile Your Dividends and 1099, you will get a complete spreadsheet, by stock, of each dividend and totals for the year. Work through the sub steps in Step 2 to the final list.

Hi Jay,
Both the Income statement report and the 1099-DIV review form report (in the lower section on the Accounting>Reports page), show you dividends summed by company for any specific year.
If you want to sum dividends since you've owned a stock, a good place to get the dividend information in a report that could be easily manipulated in a spreadsheet would be on the Investment Performance Detail Reports.
Once this had been output into a spreadsheet, you could easily filter the Description column to leave only the lines which included the word Dividend. Then you could sum the values in the Returns column to get the total dividends you had received from a company. You could even adjust the dates at the top of the report if you wanted to narrow in on specific time periods.

Both scottrade and etrade let you do custom reports. You can likely do all transactions for a particular ticker... You can play with the reports. I cannot imagine that Fidelity does not have a capability that the other two have.
I admit that it took me a while to decipher how to do Scottrade reports for the recent audit of our model club. It was exasperating and took longer than I wanted but it did work.

Hi,
We do not force you to use Excel. The
spreadsheet information we output is in a .csv format. You should be
able to read that into Open Office. You could also read it into a Google spreadsheet if you'd prefer to use that.

Laurie,
I suspect that the issue is more related to your mention of web queries for Excel. I don't use the web queries feature myself because of the hassles involved getting the queries to run against a website when I need to log in. For security purposes, I don't leave myself logged into any website when not in use. I always use the logoff button/link before I close down my web browser.
I do make use the spreadsheet downloads for the reports however. They are a great help when I am preparing a treasurer report which summarizes the data found on the reports. I use a custom written VB script to parse the downloaded CSV files and generate my report. This gathers data from the valuation report, member status report, and the transaction history report; giving a summary of the portfolio, summary of stock transactions since the last meeting (sales & purchases, and dividends received), and account balances. The only issue that I run into is that the format of the transaction history report can vary depending on the types of transactions encountered, so I end up having to tweak my script from time to time. For the transaction history report, it would be good if the CSV file always contained the same columns and column headings regardless of the transaction types being included (kind of a worst case scenario).
Thanks for such a great product and for the support that you and your team provide.
