Member AWOL Greetings, Does anyone know how to handle a member who only paid two payments about two years ago and then disappeared. We would like to withdraw him, but have no place to send check. Any help is appreciated. Thanks! Johnny I assume you have tried to reach him by phone or by mail? If he moved the mail only gets forwarded for a certain period of time. Sometimes the post office will send the letter back to you with a forwarding address on it. Where did the person come from? Doesn't anyone in the club know the person? You can do an internet search, even if you have to pay for current info. You can also try the county and court system to see if the person passed away. Wills get filed in probate court if he had one. The money would go to heirs if a will was filed. This is why all clubs should ask for contact info from members (friend or relative). I hope you find the person alive and well. Johnny --- This email has been checked for viruses by Avast antivirus software. http://www.avast.com This is easy. Withdrawal the member as you would anyone else. Cut a check and mail it to his last known address. If it comes back to you as undeliverable, contact your state Department of Revenue and ask them where to send the unclaimed money. It will go to them. Don't keep it. Lynn O. I would say send to last known address and let the post office handle it. There has to be a change of address if the person moved. I think that this just was sent to me automatically--it is not appropriate to answer my tax e-mail question to you. Thanks anyway.
