ex-dividend dates and a lot more

During the tax interview, we confirm our dividend records,
including the ex-dividend dates. Finding ex-dividend dates
can take some digging.

Yesterday, I couldn't find the dates on the TROW web site,
so I emailed Investor Relations at TROW. Today a nice lady
at TROW called me up to walk me through the procedure for
finding the ex-dates. No kidding!

At www.nasdaq.com, I typed TROW into the search field at the
top of the screen and searched. The company screen came up.
At the left side is a blue bar with a lot of links. Down
near the bottom is "dividend history". Clicking that
brought up the TROW dividend history all the way back to the
end of 1988. The first column in the listing has ex-dates.

I also tried a NYSE stock and it came up on the screen, so
maybe any ticker is available. And, I typed IBM into the
search field from the TROW dividend history screen and the
history screen for IBM came up when I clicked Search.
Sometime I will try some of the other links to company info
in that blue bar.

I've also found recently that if you go to www.morningstar.com, look up a ticker and select the "Performance" tab that you can find 5 years of dividend history for a company. This includes the ex-dividend dates.
