saving reports I want to save my monthly treasurer's reports and then attach them to emails to my members. Not all are registered at Bivio. Using regular email. I used to save each report and then attach them individually. No save button or option shows on reports or right clicking. HELP! The way I handle this is to "print" to a PDF writer. Instead of printing to your printer you select the PDF writer, the this will bring up the save as screen. Save the reports by what ever name you want and then email them. I actually then use a program called PDFsam which stands for PDF split and merge. This allows me to merge all my individual PDF's into one that I call "February Treasurers report". It is a free program and works well. Scott Stambaugh Treasure Fort Defiance Investment Club On Tue, Feb 3, 2015 at 1:06 PM, Margaret F. And for those Mac users: you can print to a PDF file from any program, or in Safari you can Export as a PDF file (go to: File, then Export as PDF); the PDF can then be attached to email messages. Also various PDFs can be combined in the Preview program. On Tuesday, February 3, 2015 12:03 PM, Laurie Frederiksen <laurie@bivio.biz> wrote:
Based on Scott's recommendation of "PDFsam", I downloaded it and installed expecting it to be free. It appears to work in a demo version, however a notice appeared asking for $30 for the real thing. I expect this is a good utility for those who want its features.. perhaps it used to be free, but not now. On Tue, Feb 3, 2015 at 12:52 PM, Scott Stambaugh <scott@stambaughjewelers.com> wrote:
Thanks for such rapid responses from Stan, Rich and Laurie (who is always quick with help) to my pleas for help. I downloaded Chrome and followed the suggestions to use the print option and get to save as PDF. Used the save as first and wound up with saved files that would not open. Just sent off the reports as attachments to my investment club members. Thanks again, ya'll! Peg Wentworth from Florida to escape the Pennsylvania weather Sorry Scott, I meant you, not Stan! |
