It takes them a while, but our friends at the IRS publish many reports analyzing tax data. Here is some information about IRA's that just came out that I thought was interesting and thought some of you might find interesting also:
At the end of 2012, the fair market values for Individual Retirement
Arrangements (IRAs) had continued to recover from their precipitous
decline in 2008. Prior to 2008, the value of investments in IRAs
exhibited steady growth, reaching $4.7 trillion for 2007. In 2008,
year-end values dropped nearly 23 percent, to $3.7 trillion. Since then,
year-end values have recovered, reaching $4.5 trillion in 2009, $5.0
trillion in 2010, $5.1 trillion in 2011, and $5.3 trillion in 2012.
