The amounts are determined by multiplying the original thresholds of $250,000 and $35,000 by an inflation factor. The inflation factor is calculated as the ratio of the Historical Consumer Price Index for Urban Wage Earners and Clerical Workers (CPI-W): U. S. city average, all

items for the prior September to that for September 2001.These amounts can currently be found in Table 27 of the CPI Detailed Report Tables at www.bls.gov. The September 2014 CPI will be released in mid-October, at which time the 2015 thresholds can be determined.
