Are You Measuring How Your Club Is Doing On a Regular Basis?
Laurie Frederiksen on
I just gave a fourth green smiley and another $30 in bivio bucks to a bivio club that has beat the market return for the past year by 15.6%.
That is amazing.
It means out of 51 different 1 year periods, they have beat the market return in all but 13 of them.
They've been a club since 2008 and over that total time period they've beaten it by 8.3%.
That is also amazing.
A few weeks ago, I gave a third green smiley to a club that has beaten the market since 2008 by 3.3%.
Both of these clubs regularly request updates to their QPRR graphs. Perhaps one of the reasons for their success has to do with their continual focus on how they are doing.
We're proud to be the only investment club accounting company that rewards clubs for successful investing.
Congrates to the winners and to Bivio for all it's teaching and help for it's members. Bivo keeps expanding sharing and helping.
THANK YOU ALL for what you do. Lillian (Quest to Invest)

Of the clubs tracked, do you have some statistics to show what percentage of clubs exceed the QPRR goal? How about persistence of beating the QPRR? I think both of those would tell us how "focused club think" is superior.

That is a good idea. When there's time, we'll try and pull together some statistics.
However, most clubs are about learning to invest. Those that have gotten to the point of beating the market are probably no more the majority than are investment advisors that beat the market.
But, as with all things, we can all get better by studying those that do well. Certainly keeping a measurement of how the club is doing will help to figure out what works and doesn't work.

When you get a moment, can you update both MLIC's and NationwideIC's QPPR chart. Don't really want to see the former, but the latter should look good.
