Tracking Investment Notes
It's good to keep track of the judgments you used to make your investing decisions and to revisit them whenever new data is available. This might happen when quarterly and annual earnings come out or when some significant news item comes out about a company.

There is a little used feature in bivio that allows you to add descriptive notes about your investments so you can keep track of your thoughts.

To add a note, go to Accounting>Investments and select the "info" link you'll see at the end of each line. You can display all the notes using the "Investment Notes" report that you'll find on the Accounting>Reports page.

You can type in a short note directly or you can enter a link or links to word, excel or other files of information about each company that you store in your files area.

During your club meeting, you could talk through your companies by working through the notes report and updating the files as you have your discussion.

If you take time each year to do a review of the history you keep, I think you'll see it will be an interesting way to see what you've learned. We're always looking forward and worrying about how far we have to go. But it is also good to look back every now and then and see how far you've come!
