Minnesota State Partnership Tax Return Is bivio going to, or does it have the State of Minnesota Partnership Tax form for Investment Clubs? It is a simple two page form that reports all zeros as the answers to the questions. As you have noted, however, MN taxes are extremely easy to complete yourself. Thanks for letting us know your interest in having us add them. -- Laurie Frederiksen Invest with your friends! www.bivio.com Become our Facebook friend! www.facebook.com/bivio Follow us on twitter! www.twitter.com/bivio To clarify what Del wrote: For those in Minnesota, the form is M3 and M3A (2 pages) that can be downloaded from the MN Department of Revenue website at http://taxes.state.mn.us/Pages/index.aspx. Type M3 in the search box and you're there. Simply fill in the header with club name and address, Fed ID and/or State ID, and number of K-1s and current # of partners, and print. If this is not your last return, then just place zeros in every box, sign and date. The mailing address is on the bottom of the form. Remember to attach a copy of your Federal return with all attachments.
The reasons for the zeros is because MN doesn't start charging partnerships on income under $250,000 per year (think interest, dividends and options premiums). Our dues and market values are assets and not subject to the tax.
