Changing from Schwab to E*Trade
Our club is currently trying to transfer from Schwab to Fidelity as well.  On our first try in October, we were told to use the wrong application which lead to lot of wasted time.  So we decided to postpone our efforts until the new year.  Fortunately, my complaints to Fidelity put me in contact with a different level Rep. that sent me, what I've been assured is the correct application, and spent 45 minutes on the phone with me answering questions in filling out the application.  She was very patient and a pleasure to work with.  I'm hopeful it works this time around.

Anyway, here is her contact info:

Same thing happened to us. We completed the partnership form, submitted all of the required documents, only to be told that we had to complete the investment club form. What is strange is we are an investment club but legally organized as a partnership. So someone decided, without any logical basis, that we had to complete the investment club form rather than the partnership form. The partnership form required only the signatures of those individuals who would be designated traders of the account. The investment club form required the signatures of all the partners. Big pain.

We also filled out an 'old' form and had to redo it.
It took time, but we finally got transferred.

Then came the problem of setting up the automatic deposits. I made the mistake of looking up the address for their bank. My check got returned. I asked for a better address. They gave me one, but I looked at it on Google Maps street view. It was right next door, but looked very sketchy, whereas the address I used looked like the bank. I asked, "are you sure?!?" and they said yes.

So far, only one member has successfully set up their Fidelity automatic deposit successfully. But I'm sure we'll get it squared away.

We are in the process of transferring our account from Schwab to Fidelity. I am waiting for all the partners signature at this time. I hope I have the correct form. I talk to a representative and they told me which form to use. It does require signatures from all partners. So, I am crossing my fingers, lol Schwab has been a nightmare, It started with not being able to transfer stock. Just before the Ameritrade merger with Schwab, we transferred shares from 3 old DRIP plans into Ameritrade. after the merger I called Schwab and asked them if I could deposit the original GE stock certificate we had from 2001 when we started the drip plan. I mentioned to them these shares were before the reverse split of GE. The representative assured me they knew how to handle it. After I sent it, I watched our account to see if we received credit for those shares. When they didn't appear, I contacted them.  They said they were unable to deposit the shares into our account because of the reverse split and that I needed to send it to the transfer agent. He also said the certificate was returned to me, which it had not. After my phone call was transferred to a few different people I was told the certificate had been sent to a partner that had left the club in 2011. Because the name on the certificate had the club's name on it in care of this partner. There was no address on the certificate and no one at Schwab knows where they found her address to send her the certificate, It's a big mystery. Unfortunately, this person sold her home in 2015. and moved out of state. The certificate was never returned to Schwab. My question to them was why it wasn't returned to the actual business address of the club in the first place. I asked them what they planned on doing about this and their reply was they gave me the UPS tracking number so I could contact them to locate it. The problem there was UPS couldn't give me any information because it was not addressed to me. To make matters worse Schwab added this woman on our account as an authorized person to make transactions. I explained to them she is not authorized and was never authorized with Ameritrade nor is she even in the club anymore. At this point, Schwab froze our account. We can't make any transactions with exception of selling stock. We can't buy anything, and we can't transfer funds into our club checking account. So now I am doing paperwork to open the Fidelity account and updating the Schwab account to remove this non-partner. Both forms requiring signatures of all partners. I will be glad when it is completed and I can take a break. lol
