Thank you for all the kind words it has been fun to do and I have had a lot of positive feedback which helps make you feel like it is worthwhile to do. It is taking a little more time than I thought but I think that will change as we can starting using the COOL_Tool as a basis to talk about trades.
The commission table looks like the table below and is located on the "Getting Started" The Base Commission is the minimum amount you would pay on any trade. And with some brokers (like OptionsExpress and OptionsHouse) that base covers a number of contracts like the first 10. The cost per contract is the price after those in the base and then the assignment or Stock Trade Cost is when an option is exercised. If you go to this tab and still cannot change things let me know as I need to figure out what is going on there. I just tried it on the version that got posted last night and it seemed to be working OK here but you know how that goes.
As far as the dates, I need to check my logic because I had meant for the new weeklies to show up on the first Thursday available like you were wanting so that will get fixed in the next update for sure. I will contemplate allowing any dates and that probably is not a big deal, I just need to think about how I want to implement that so that will probably be in the next update as well.
Thanks for the feedback and happy to have you as part of the COOL_Club gang.
You are truly one cool dude - and what a great series of classes you are doing. They are superb. Congratulations on your superb cool tool which is very unique and certainly highlights your ss powers.
I used your first version, and I was able to adjust the broker's fees, but I can't seem to do that in the latest version. What is the secret to changing that info?
In the date of expiration, you have 3 choices, the weekly, 1st month and 2nd month, which is very convenient and covers most situations. However, today the 2nd weekly is available, Aug 24th, and your form will not allow me to enter that date. IF it would be possible to enter the expiration date of your choice, that would accommodate the new weekly and also any number of months farther out than the 2nd month. I don't know if that is possible or not.
Congratulations on a great series.

Everything is working perfectly in the new ver 2.01. I love it.
I was confused regarding the broker comm at first, as in the original version I could change it right on the screen. In the new set up, I need to change it on a separate screen, which I did, and I then assume that price will stay fixed for all trades, unless I elect to change it.
Thanks for all of the additions.

Mary Ann,
You are more than welcome and thanks for the recommendations.
Yes the commissions are only changed on the Getting Started page so that they flow through to both the "Sell-To-Open" and the "Closing the Option" sheets.
